Real Estate Crowdfunding

Real estate crowdfunding colloquially refers to online platforms that offer passive real estate investments to individual investors. EQUITYMULTIPLE is often referred to as a real estate crowdfunding platform.

Real estate crowdfunding platforms make use of JOBS Act Rule D exemptions to employ “broad solicitation”, allowing them to offer investments to individual investors at low minimums and through efficient, online platforms. In a strict legal sense, real estate crowdfunding platforms are those that leverage The JOBS Act’s Title iii exemption – the so-called “crowdfunding exemption” – to offer investments to non-accredited investors; however, platforms like EQUITYMULTIPLE that only offer investments to accredited investors are also typically referred to as such.
